Pentecost blog:
“Lord, send out your Spirit, and renew the face of the earth.”:
On Monday 1st June, our school community gathered together in the hall to celebrate Pentecost Mass with Father Benjamin. It was a joyful occasion as we reflected on the coming of the Holy Spirit and its importance in our lives. The Gospel reading was from John 20:19–23, where Jesus appeared to His disciples after His resurrection and said, “Peace be with you.” Through this Gospel, we learned about the courage, peace and strength that the Holy Spirit brings to God's people. To help us celebrate Pentecost, the children had made colourful headbands decorated with flames in advance. They proudly wore these during Mass to represent the flames of the Holy Spirit that came upon the disciples at Pentecost. During the celebration, we reflected on the Fruits of the Holy Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. We thought about how we can show these gifts in our daily lives through our words and actions.
Our Pentecost Mass was a meaningful and prayerful celebration that reminded us that the Holy Spirit is always with us, guiding us to live as followers of Jesus and helping us to bring peace, kindness and hope to others.
For peace in our world: that the Holy Spirit will transform our world into a community of justice and peace.
Lord, in your mercy
Hear our prayer.
