Active Travel Inspection:

Our Junior Travel Ambassadors (JTAs) arrived at school bright and early this week to take part in an Active Travel Inspection around the school and surrounding area.

The children examined the quality of pavements and roads, the condition and effectiveness of speed bumps, the availability of green spaces, parking arrangements, crossing points, signage and much more.

Throughout the inspection, the JTAs discussed what is already working well and identified areas where improvements could be made to encourage more children and families to walk, wheel, scoot, or cycle to school.

The pupils were particularly interested in exploring ways to improve road safety around the school gates and enhance the local environment for everyone. Their observations and suggestions will help inform future discussions about how we can continue to promote active travel and make journeys to school safer and more enjoyable.

Well done to our JTAs for representing the school so positively and for their hard work during the inspection. We look forward to sharing their recommendations!
