Year 6 blog:
Our Year 6 team are well and truly making the most of the amazing activities here at Skern Lodge, challenging themselves to try new things and supporting each other fantastically. The children have represented the school beautifully, demonstrating our school values in everything they have done.
This morning, we began our day with groups 1 and 2 taking on the obstacle course, where they had to communicate effectively and problem solve as a team. We then moved over to the archery field, where we discovered who had the potential to be the next Robin Hood. The other groups headed out to the beach to explore the surrounding areas. On their exploration, they discovered lots of different creatures in their natural habitats and were able to investigate the nearby rock pools.
This afternoon, some of us headed to the river for our team rafting. There was plenty of teamwork, laughter and friendly competition as everyone made the most of the stunning surroundings, ensuring they worked together to steer the raft. Meanwhile, the other groups reached new heights on the climbing wall. The children challenged themselves to climb as high as they could, then abseiled down the tower. We were all impressed with the great display of resilience and determination.
We are all looking forward to our BBQ dinner this evening, which will be followed by a scavenger hunt around the site. This will involve even more teamwork, communication and thinking outside the box to find all the items on the list as quickly as possible.
We can't wait to see what our final day has in store for us!
