Year 3 blog:

Year 3 have been immersing themselves in the fascinating world of Ancient Greece this term. To bring their learning to life, we held a special Greek Day, where the children arrived dressed as Ancient Greeks and stepped back in time to experience life in this remarkable civilisation.

The library was transformed into an Ancient Agora, allowing the children to take part in role-play activities as traders buying and selling goods. They also explored the famous Battle of Marathon, discovering how the outnumbered Athenian army achieved an extraordinary victory against the powerful Persian forces.

To conclude the day, the children learned about Pheidippides and his legendary run from Marathon to Athens to deliver news of the Greek victory. It was a fantastic day filled with hands-on learning, enthusiasm and curiosity. The children thoroughly enjoyed the experience and are excited to continue learning more about the Ancient Greeks in the weeks ahead.
