Year 1 Pip and Pap Phonics Parent and Child Workshop

Year 1 parents and pupils had a lovely time in their phonics workshop today, reading the book "The Toy Shop," together! They practised the grapheme phoneme correspondences /oy/ /ir/ /ue/ and /aw/, reading sentences such as "Pip and Pap see a jigsaw in a box. It has a bird on it," "What is the issue, there is no need to argue!" "Pap sees a drawing set. She draws some swirls with the crayons."

In the story, Tisp buys a toy with a blue ribbon - so we made our own ribbon toy! Aren't they fantastic?

All parents are welcome at our phonics workshops - please ask your child's class teacher for more details.
