Year 6 blog:
We can’t quite believe we are already on Day 3 of our Skern adventure. The week is flying by because we are having such an amazing time. Today has been another brilliant mix of teamwork, challenge and plenty of fun.
This morning, some groups took on the assault course and tunnelling, which involved climbing, balancing, squeezing through tunnels and solving problems together. It really tested our communication and teamwork skills, and it was great to see everyone supporting one another and celebrating their successes as a team.
While those groups were busy on land, the others were off to the beach for surfing and bodyboarding. Wetsuits on (eventually) and boards in hand, we headed into the waves. Some of us managed to stand up on our boards, while others became bodyboarding pros. There were cheers, splashes and lots of laughter. The energy was amazing and it was clear everyone was having a fantastic time.
In the afternoon, we challenged ourselves with climbing, abseiling and high ropes. The climbing wall was tall, but that did not stop us. We saw so many children pushing themselves to reach the top and abseil down with confidence. Over on the high ropes, we tested our balance and bravery, and once again, the encouragement between friends made all the difference.
We ended the day gathered around a campfire, where we enjoyed some time to relax, reflect and enjoy being together after such a full day.
It has been so rewarding to see how much the children are growing in confidence, supporting each other and embracing every opportunity. We are so proud of them and excited for what tomorrow brings.
