Year 6 blog:
After a restful first night and a nutritious breakfast, the children were full of energy and ready for another day of adventure. The sun continued to shine, setting the perfect scene for a full day of outdoor activities.
The morning began with some fun on the beach, where the children built sandcastles and took part in lively games like shot put and sharks. It was a brilliant way to warm up for the day ahead, with lots of laughter and friendly competition.
Today, it was time for the remaining groups to take on the agility course and tunnelling challenge. There was plenty of laughter and encouragement as the children tackled obstacles, crawled through tight spaces, and supported one another to complete the course. It was fantastic to see their teamwork and determination growing stronger.
Meanwhile, other groups swapped dry land for water, heading off to try kayaking. The children took to the water and had a brilliant time learning to steer, balance and work together in pairs. There were a few wobbles (and even a few splashes!), but everyone showed resilience and had lots of fun.
Up on the high ropes, the final groups faced new challenges, including the daring Leap of Faith. There were plenty of nerves and moments of bravery, and it was incredibly uplifting to watch children cheer each other on and push beyond their comfort zones. Every success—big or small—was met with proud smiles and high fives all around.
After another action-packed day, the children refuelled with another delicious dinner. Then it was time to get dressed up for the evening disco! The children put on their best outfits, filled the dancefloor, and sang their hearts out to their favourite songs. There was a brilliant atmosphere and plenty of energy as everyone celebrated a fantastic day together.
It’s been another brilliant day here at Skern Lodge—full of laughter, support, and memories in the making. We’re looking forward to surfing, climbing, abseiling and more tomorrow!
