Year 6 blog:

And just like that, our incredible week at away has come to an end!

After an early start this morning, Year 6 tucked into one final hearty breakfast before packing their bags and saying goodbye to their dorm rooms.

Four groups took to the water for a rafting activity. The children worked as a team to paddle through the splashes and finishing the session absolutely buzzing!

Meanwhile, two groups tackled the heights of climbing and abseiling. It was amazing to see pupils supporting each other with such encouragement and confidence — especially those who began the week unsure about heights.

After lunch we loaded the coach and headed home — tired but filled with pride.

This week has been more than just activities and fun. It’s been about courage, friendship, resilience, and pushing beyond comfort zones. Whether it was trying new experiences or simply sleeping away from home for the first time — each and every child has faced a fear and come out stronger for it.

We couldn’t be prouder of what they’ve achieved.

A huge thank you to the fantastic team in Devon and, of course, to our amazing Year 6 pupils. You’ve been adventurous, kind, supportive, and brave — everything we could have hoped for and more.

Have a well-earned rest this weekend — you’ve truly earned it!
