Hampshire Reading Championship:

Pupils across our partnership in Year 5 and 6 took part in the "Hampshire Reading Championships" today!

Children selected from each school that have shown a love for reading and thirst for books, were selected by their teachers to partake in the inter-school quiz. We were also joined by Swaythling Primary School, and Fairisle Junior School!

Miss Plazas and Mrs Williams were today's quizmasters and it was quite a show!
Pupils across the schools battled across a number of challenges, including anagrams, quick fire buzzer rounds, whiteboard work and tie-breakers to find a winning school! They showed off their knowledge of books, characters, authors and illustrators and all worked well together in their individual teams, in this quiz that required both skill and luck!

A winner was finally found - with Bitterne Park finishing in 1st place, the second year in a row! They won a £10 voucher from October Books and will also get to keep the trophy for another twelve months!
