We were delighted to gather our new Eco Warrior team, who met together for the first time this year!

It was wonderful to hear the children's enthusiasm, creativity and thoughtful ideas about how we can help protect our planet and care for God's creation.

The children shared some fantastic suggestions about how we can make a positive difference in our school and wider community. We are so excited to see their ideas develop and to work together to become responsible stewards of our beautiful world.

Our first action has been to make sure that all our fruit waste from break time is being composted correctly. We discussed why composting is important and how we can reduce waste while giving something back to nature.

The children worked together to create informative posters showing what can and cannot go into our compost bins. These posters will help everyone in school make the right choices when disposing of their fruit waste.

We also created a composting rota to ensure that the fruit waste is emptied regularly into our school's composting system. Over time, this compost can be used in our school gardens, helping plants to grow and supporting the wonderful outdoor spaces we enjoy.

This project has been a lovely opportunity for the children to put our Catholic values into action. By caring for the environment, reducing waste and looking after our school gardens, we are demonstrating our responsibility to care for God's creation.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm and teamwork shown by our Eco Warriors during their first meeting. We look forward to seeing the positive impact they will make throughout the year and hearing more of their brilliant ideas.
