2026 Year 6

Year 5 Residential Trip Parent Workshop – A Great Start to the Adventure!

On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Year 5 parents and carers into school for an informative workshop all about the upcoming residential trip to Devon, taking place from July 6th to July 10th, 2026.

The session was designed to give families a clear picture of what their children can expect during this exciting week away and to answer any questions they might have.

We began the workshop with a video from last year’s trip, giving parents a real sense of the joy, adventure and lasting memories that come with this unique experience. The smiles, challenges and achievements captured in the video spoke volumes about the value of this opportunity for our children.

Following the video, we walked through the details of the trip, starting with the journey from school to Devon. We discussed travel arrangements, timings and how we ensure the journey is safe and enjoyable for everyone.

Next, we talked about catering, including how meals are planned and provided for the children, taking into account dietary needs and preferences. Parents were reassured that children will be well fed with nutritious meals throughout the stay.

We then moved on to the exciting part – the activities! From adventurous outdoor challenges to team-building tasks and evening entertainment, we outlined a packed itinerary full of fun, learning and confidence-building experiences.

Parents were also given a glimpse of what the rooms and accommodation will be like, ensuring everyone has a comfortable, safe and secure place to rest and recharge each night.

To wrap up the session, we opened the floor to a Q&A, where parents had the chance to raise any questions or concerns. From packing lists to contact protocols, we did our best to provide clarity and reassurance.

Thank you to all the parents who attended – your support helps to ensure this trip will be a positive and memorable experience for every child. We’re looking forward to next July and all the adventures that await our Year 5 children!
