Year R cohort of 25-26
It was a pleasure to welcome our new Year R cohort of 25-26 into the school on Friday for our Rhyme time session. The children spent time with the three teachers rotating around the different activities, which is similar to how they will rotate classes in September.
The children had lots of opportunities to join in as a group, such as using the instruments to sing 'Head, shoulders, knees and toes' and winding up a bobbin when singing 'Wind the bobbin up'. The children also had time to explore independently when singing nursery rhymes, building a wall for Humpty Dumpty, making frogs to sing with for '5 little speckled frogs' and aliens to feel in sensory play for '5 little men in a flying saucer'. The children loved these activities and all engaged really well. It was lovely for the teachers to interact with both children and their parents. The children have started to recognise class teachers and their peers; it was lovely to see the start of some blossoming friendships.
The Year R team are looking forward to the Story Share session coming up.
