Year 6 Transition Workshop with Into University
This week, our Year 6 children took part in an exciting and thought-provoking transition workshop delivered by Into University aimed at helping them prepare for the move to secondary school. The workshop was a fantastic opportunity for the children to reflect on their primary school journey and begin to think about the exciting changes ahead.
Led by experienced facilitators from Into University, the session focused on building confidence, setting goals and addressing common worries about starting Year 7. Through interactive activities, discussions and group work, the children explored topics such as managing a new timetable, making new friends and finding their way around a bigger school. The facilitators shared helpful strategies and encouraged students to ask questions, share their thoughts and support each other.
The children left the workshop feeling more reassured and excited about the next stage in their education. Many commented on how helpful it was to hear that it is normal to feel nervous — and that with the right mindset, they are more than ready for this new chapter.
We would like to thank the team at Into University for delivering such an engaging and supportive workshop. It is clear that our Year 6 children are beginning to feel more prepared and enthusiastic about the move to secondary school. We are incredibly proud of the maturity and positivity they showed throughout the session.
We look forward to continuing to support our Year 6 children during this important transition period and wish them all the best as they prepare for this exciting step forward.
