Year R blog:

Last week in PSED, the Year R children embodied school crossing officers - they loved wearing the tabards and using the coloured cones - and learned all about road safety.

The children enjoyed talking about their own experiences when out and about with their families: scooting, cycling and walking our streets. The children watched the classic hedgehog advert and we sang 'staying alive'. They loved using this to help us remember that when we cross the road you must 'stop, look and listen'.

The children absolutely loved role playing being school crossing officers, using coloured cones and playing 'red light, green light'. This helped the children to practise looking both ways and ensuring they remembered to say 'stop, look and listen'.

The children also loved bike day, having and using their own bikes from home and cycling around the main playground during our learning rotations in the morning, putting the skills learnt this week into practice to stay safe and have a fabulous time.
