Year 6 Devon Adventure:
Day 3
We woke up fresh and ready to go after our first full day in Devon. On today’s itinerary we had Rafting, Climbing, Abseiling and Beach Games!
The rafting was very popular as we were able to jump from the raft into the water. There were many ‘Raft Battles’ which took place during the journey down the river. This meant we could splash the ‘enemy rafts’ with our paddles. It gave the children a perfect opportunity to get their teachers soaked!
After rafting we walked to Graysands beach where we played numerous games such as handball, tag, frisbee and relay runs! These were played with excellent team spirit and encouragement!
Whilst we were at the beach, the other groups were conquering fears and reaching new heights as they took on the climbing wall (10 metres tall!). However, their work was not done once they got to the top… They then had to lean back off the edge and expertly abseil their way back down to the ground (Spider-Man style).
As always, we enjoyed a nutritious dinner to give us the energy needed to enjoy the evening camp fire. We loved roasting and eating our marshmallows!
After another brilliant day, the children fell quickly to sleep to prepare for their last full day of their Devon Adventure.
