Year 6 blog:

It has been an incredibly busy and exciting time for our Year 6 pupils as they continue to work hard and make the most of every opportunity in their final term at primary school.

One of the highlights of the term has been preparing for our end-of-year performance. The children have shown tremendous enthusiasm and dedication as they learn lines, practise songs, and perfect their stage presence. Rehearsals are well underway, and it has been wonderful to see their confidence grow with each practice session. We are looking forward to sharing the finished performance with families and celebrating the talents of our Year 6 pupils.

Alongside their performance preparations, the children have also been busy getting ready for their upcoming Expo. This special event will provide an opportunity for pupils to showcase their learning, achievements, and projects from across the year. The Expo will allow children to reflect on their learning journey while sharing their knowledge and experiences with others. We are incredibly proud of the effort and creativity they are putting into preparing their displays and presentations.

Recently, Year 6 enjoyed a visit to the Lordshill Library, where they explored a wide range of books and learned more about the valuable resources available within their local community. The visit has continued to inspire a love of reading across the year group. Since returning to school, pupils have enthusiastically shared recommendations, discussed favourite authors, and taken part in engaging book talk sessions. It has been fantastic to see their passion for reading flourish and to hear the thoughtful conversations taking place about the books they are enjoying.

As we move towards the end of the academic year, Year 6 continue to demonstrate resilience, enthusiasm, and a commitment to learning. We look forward to celebrating their achievements through their Expo, enjoying their final performance, and supporting them as they prepare for the exciting next stage of their educational journey.
