My Paper Boat Performance by the Mayflower

In Year 1, we were lucky enough to have the Mayflower theatre company come into our school and perform a wonderful storytelling musical for us called My Paper Boat. It was all about how important recycling is and why we should look after our planet to stop climate change from happening. We enjoyed meeting three pirate characters that helped to tell the story. We also met a penguin and a bird called Swifty who explained how the rubbish in the sea and the melting ice caps are hurting our planet. The pirates also talked about how humans are making good changes to help with this. Year 1 loved making raindrops and learning one of the songs before they came so that we could all join in on the day. A favourite moment was learning a great pirate dance to go with the song! 

It really was a lovely performance which the children loved.
