Sanctuary Update

The Sanctuary Ambassadors have met to start planning our aims for the year. We decided that our initial priorities will be welcoming new starters to the school and creating a weekly lunchtime club to help other children feel included during playtime.

So far this year, we have welcomed 10 new starters to our school, which include children from a range of different backgrounds. We are very proud to have more than 30 different first languages spoken across our school community.

Our Year 6 leaders are currently preparing for the lunchtime club, and we hope to have it up and running within the next few weeks. The children are also writing a script to use when giving guided tours to new starters, helping them to feel welcome and settled in our school.

Later in the year, we hope to host a fundraising event for a charity that works to reunite separated children with their families around the world  www.hopeandhomes.org, . This includes supporting families in Nepal, where recent catastrophic flooding has caused devastation for many communities.
