Cross-Country Competition:

We are excited to announce that a group of Year 3, 4, 5 and 6 children took part in a cross country competition against Mansel Park Primary School last Friday. Unfortunately, due to all the development work being completed at the Sports Centre, the usual city-wide cross country event, run by School Games Southampton, had to be cancelled. We saw this as an opportunity to host our own inter-partnership event and ensure those children who enjoy cross country still had the opportunity to take part.

The pupils from Holy Family and Mansel Park ran a set course, for 2 laps, between both the school fields. This replicated the distance of 1 mile - the same distance the children would have been running at the sports centre.

We are incredibly proud of all the children who took part and encourage them to remember that taking part, trying their best and supporting others are what matters most.

Our girls finished strong with a 2nd and 3rd place finish while our boys took 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

Hopefully we will be able to have another cross country event later in the academic year.
