Dear Parents and Carers,

We are excited to inform all of you about our pupil leadership structure this academic year, which will give all our children the opportunity to develop their confidence, teamwork and communication, amongst many other skills.

At Holy Family Catholic Primary School, we believe that developing leadership qualities from an early age helps children to become more responsible, independent and engaged members of our school community. Throughout the week, we will be giving the children the opportunity to put their names forward to become a leader in one of 9 different areas. These are as follows:

·       House Captain - Year 6

·       Sports Captain - Year 6

·       Pupil Chaplin  - Years 4 to 6

·       School Council – Years 1 to 6

·       Travel Ambassadors – Years 3, 4, 5 and 6

·       Eco Warrior  - Year 1 to 6

·       Reading Ambassadors – Years 1 to 6

·       School of Sanctuary Leader – Years 1 to 6

·       E-Cadet – Years 5 and 6

The pupils will only be able to lead in one area of the school but they may put their name forward for as many of the roles that they are passionate about. By becoming a pupil leader, they will have the chance to represent the views and ideas of their peers, act as role models by demonstrating respect, responsibility and kindness, help to organise and promote school initiatives (such as charity events, recycling drives and fundraising), work collaboratively with staff to improve the school environment and promote positive change and develop important life skills (such as public speaking, problem-solving, teamwork and decision-making).

We encourage all children to get involved and we welcome your support in discussing these opportunities at home. More information about how to apply or get involved will be shared with pupils in class.

Thank you for your continued support.
