Year R blog:

This week in their Busy Bee time, Year R have excelled at becoming more independent within their play and applying their knowledge and skills that they have learnt in the morning into their afternoon sessions. Our learning for this week has focused on rhyming, addition, map skills and stranger danger. We have had a focus on vocabulary and the children have been shining at using their Mr Nosey 'new learning' words within their play. One child was able to think of different rhyming pairs and said "I know they rhyme because they sound the same'.

We love to see the children applying their phonics knowledge within their Busy Bee time and one child used his orange sounds to label a picture that he created. He said "I built a big house, h h house".

The children are also enjoying exploring our 'Chinese Takeaway' role play area ready to celebrate the new Lunar Year next week and they are being able to clearly articulate their thoughts into well formed sentences. One child said 'What would you like to eat?  I can make you noodles, but be careful as they are hot". We are proud of all the skills the children are developing during their Busy Bee time and we cannot wait to see where the learning takes them!
