The Road to Jesus: Celebrating the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist

On Monday 22nd June, our school community gathered to celebrate Mass for the Nativity of Saint John the Baptist, and the children in St John house received a special blessing.

Father Benjamin led the Mass and helped us reflect on the important role of Saint John the Baptist in God's plan. Through the Gospel reading from Luke (1:57-66, 80), we heard the story of John's birth and learned how he was chosen by God for a special mission.

During his homily, Father Benjamin spoke about how Saint John showed people the way to Jesus. John dedicated his life to preparing the way for Christ, encouraging others to turn towards God and follow His teachings. Father Benjamin reminded us that we are called to do the same in our daily lives through our words, actions and kindness towards others.

Together, we prayed for the Church, for peace and prosperity throughout the world, for those who serve others, for our parish community, and for all who are sick or suffering. We also asked Our Lady to unite our prayers with hers as we prayed the Hail Mary together.

As we brought our gifts to the altar during the offertory procession, we reflected on how Saint John inspires us to follow Christ more closely. Just as John pointed others towards Jesus, we too can be examples of faith, courage and humility in our school, our homes and our community.

We thank Father Benjamin for leading the celebration and helping us deepen our understanding of Saint John the Baptist's mission. May we continue to follow the road to Jesus and share His love with everyone we meet.
