Bike Doctor blog:
On Friday 3rd October, we were delighted to welcome Monty’s Bike Hub to school for our Bike Doctor event. The visit was a fantastic opportunity to make sure pupils’ bikes were safe, well maintained and ready to ride.
Our Junior Travel Ambassadors arrived early at 8am to guide children and parents to the correct area. They worked brilliantly as a team, helping to organise the bikes and even getting the chance to assist with some of the repairs, learning practical maintenance skills along the way.
Over the course of the morning, 21 bikes were checked and fixed, with small issues quickly resolved by the Monty’s Bike Hub mechanic. Pupils watched with interest as their bikes were tested, adjusted and returned in great condition, ready for many more journeys to come.
With so many bikes now road-ready, there’s the potential for 21 fewer cars outside the school gates each morning. This means safer, calmer drop-offs and a positive step towards a greener, more active school community.
A huge thank you to Monty’s Bike Hub, our Junior Travel Ambassadors, and all the families who took part. The event was a real success and we look forward to seeing even more pupils cycling safely and confidently to school.
