Year 1 blog:
Year 1 have had a fantastic half term! In writing, we have moved on to writing our own diary entries for Gerald the Giraffe. We have had to consider different features that we could use in our work to make it sound exciting and to convey the characters' feelings during different parts of the story.
In Maths, we have been learning to tell the time! We have been reading the time to the nearest hour and half hour! We have created a 'how to' to help us know the difference between the second, minute and hour hands on the clock.
In Science, we have been learning about Deciduous and Evergreen trees. We went on a walk in our outdoor environment and discovered a range of different trees such as Willow, Sycamore and Pine trees!
In Art, we have been learning about sculptures, using different techniques to create different effects on the clay. We created our own faces which we were then able to take home.
Year 1 have worked so hard this year and we wish them all the best with their learning in Year 2!
