Year 5’s NSPCC Assembly – Learning How to Stay Safe and Happy
As we settled back into our first week of learning, Year 5 had a very important and engaging NSPCC assembly about how to keep ourselves safe and happy. The session focused on recognising different types of worries and understanding the importance of speaking to a trusted adult if something is troubling us. We also learned about Childline and how it provides support for children who need someone to talk to.
The assembly gave us lots to think about and, on Tuesday, we had a follow-up workshop to deepen our understanding. During this interactive session, we discussed real-life scenarios and explored the best ways to seek help and support. The children participated brilliantly, asking thoughtful questions and sharing their ideas on how to stay safe in different situations.
A key message we took away from the workshop was that no worry is too small and there is always someone who can help! Whether it’s a teacher, family member or a trusted adult, it’s important to speak up when something doesn’t feel right.
Year 5 showed great maturity and understanding during these sessions and we are proud of the way they engaged with such an important topic. Well done, everyone!
