Year 4 blog:

On Tuesday, Year 4 set off on an exciting trip to Calshot Activity Centre. From the moment we arrived, the children were full of energy and ready to take on new challenges.

One of our activities was the archery range. With bows in hand and eyes fixed on the target, everyone had a go at becoming a real-life Robin Hood. There were cheers and smiles all round when arrows hit the gold, and lots of determination to improve with every shot.

Next up was the low ropes course. This was all about balance, teamwork and bravery. Children encouraged each other across wobbly bridges, ropes and tricky steps. It was wonderful to see so much support and friendship as everyone worked together to complete the course.

The climbing walls looked tall and a little daunting at first but Year 4 rose to the challenge! The children used their strength and determination to climb higher than they thought possible. The sense of achievement when reaching as high as they could was fantastic! One of the children commented 'My heart has never beaten this fast before!'

For many of our children, skiing was the highlight of the day. After getting kitted out with boots and skis, the children learned how to glide down the slope. There were a few tumbles but plenty of laughter and lots of progress. By the end, many were skiing with confidence!

The trip to Calshot was filled with adventure, courage and teamwork. The children tried new things, supported one another and showed brilliant resilience. Everyone returned home tired but very proud of what they had achieved.

Well done, Year 4 – you were amazing!
