Ascension Mass

A Joyous Celebration of the Feast of the Ascension at Our School

Last week, our school gathered together to celebrate the Feast of the Ascension with a special Mass. It was a time for reflection, prayer, and a shared sense of community as we marked the moment when Jesus ascended into heaven.

The Mass began with an atmosphere of reverence and joy, as our child readers took on the important role of proclaiming the Word of God. Their clear and thoughtful delivery helped set the tone for a meaningful celebration.

Our Year 6 pupils had the wonderful opportunity to express their prayers through artwork, which were displayed proudly during the offertory. These pieces, filled with vibrant colors and thoughtful symbols, truly reflected the heart of their prayers and faith.

As the Mass drew to a close, the whole school gathered together in the fresh air to sing “We Want to See Jesus Lifted High.” This was accompanied by our pupil chaplains, who in a gesture of joyful celebration, blew bubbles into the air. As they floated up to the sky, it was a symbolic and touching reminder of the ascension of Christ — as the bubbles rose higher and higher, so too did our prayers and our hearts, reaching out toward heaven.

It was a Mass that reminded us all of the importance of faith, prayer, and community. We are grateful for the shared joy we experienced as a school family. Let us continue to carry the spirit of the Ascension with us, as we seek to live out our faith each day and lift each other up in prayer.
