E-Cadets:

E-Cadets Shine a Light on Digital Wellbeing

Our fantastic E-Cadets have been busy working on an important project to help promote positive mental wellbeing and safe technology use across our school community.

The children chose to focus on the topic of blue light and the impact too much screen time can have on our mental wellbeing, sleep and overall health. As part of their project, the E-Cadets carried out their own research to learn more about how technology can affect us both positively and negatively.

After gathering information, the pupils worked together brilliantly to write their own script, carefully thinking about the key messages they wanted to share with others. They then used their creativity and teamwork skills to film a helpful video designed to educate and support children, staff and families about the impact and use of screen time. So, are you ready for the lights, camera and actions? In their video, the E-Cadets explained how blue light from screens can affect sleep patterns, concentration and mood, especially when devices are used for long periods of time or late in the evening.

We are incredibly proud of the enthusiasm, confidence and leadership shown by our E-Cadets throughout this project. By creating and sharing their video with the children in school, they are hoping to encourage everyone to think carefully about their digital wellbeing.

Technology is a wonderful tool for learning, creativity and communication, but it is also important that we understand how to use it in healthy and balanced ways. Thanks to the hard work of our E-Cadets, our school community is becoming even more aware of how to stay safe, happy and healthy online. Well done, E-Cadets!
