Year 5 blog:
What a way to start our first full week in Year 5! Lots of our children have had a fantastic time taking part in Bikeability and have thrown themselves into the experience.
Whether they were experienced cyclists or brand new to riding a bike, everyone involved has learnt something valuable. The children have been developing their cycling skills and learning how to be safer and more confident when out and about on their bikes. They have practised skills such as signalling, stopping safely and being aware of what is happening around them.
For some children, the week has been about developing skills they already had, while for others it has been about taking those first steps towards becoming confident cyclists. There have been plenty of opportunities to practise, make mistakes, try again and celebrate improvements.
It has been lovely to see the children encouraging each other and showing determination when faced with something they found tricky. They have listened carefully, supported one another and thrown themselves into every activity. Well done Year 5 for a brilliant week!
