Year 2 blog:

Oh no!  The Crayons have quit!

This half term, our Year 2 children have received complaints from a group of crayons saying how badly they feel they are treated!  Feeling outraged, the children took on the role of the other stationary to write a letter expressing their disappointment! The children analysed a range of features to express emotions and to really encourage the reader to understand the characters' feelings. They have used 'show me, don't tell me', as well as some hyperboles to exaggerate their emotions, to write some very impressive letters!

Do you ever wonder about the largest rainforest in the world?

Our Year 2 children have begun to explore the four different layers of The Amazon Rainforest and what lurks within. They started by exploring the different climates across the world, before discussing maps and answering questions using their knowledge from both their science and geography learning. The children are very excited to share their next learning about The Amazon Rainforest!
