Today we went on a walk around our local area and the children amazed us with their knowledge about the key features of the local area!
We started at school and walked down the road until we came to The Saints Pub. We then carefully crossed the road and walked into Mansel Park. From the park, we could spot Millbrook Towers and even the shops on Windermere Avenue in the distance.
We drew our own maps on the way as we passed these local places. We then used these maps to help us get back to school.
On the walk, we were able to explain if features were human or physical:

"The trees are made by God." - Nicole
"The park was made by humans." - Marcel
"Now we just need to walk back past the pub and straight down the road to school." - Freya
"We need to use this map we've drawn to get back to school." - Benjamin
