Year 6 Devon Adventure:

Day 1

We are here and raring to go! After a long coach trip, we arrive safely at SKERN Lodge ready to start our activities after a tour of the site.

First up today was the seashore trail. We had the opportunity to walk in and around different rock pools, dog whelks, barnacles, anomies, limpets and Winkels (along with LOTS of crabs). To top it all off, the weather held out, and we enjoyed a great walk back to our base. During this walk, Henry (our group leader) told us all about the history of this wonderful area.

After filling our tummies with pasta or jacket potato for dinner, we had a scavenger hunt for our evening activity. This was again another chance for us to explore the site and get to know our surroundings (while also finding it very tricky to collect snails and cobwebs for extra point).

The children all settled well but their heads were full of excitement, looking forward to a packed day tomorrow.
