Lordshill Library Trips:

Our KS2 pupils have been enjoying trips up to Lordshill Library this half term, walking up from school together to enjoy some reading for pleasure!

We have been very lucky to have our visits facilitated by Liz Loughlin, the Children's Librarian Lead for the Southampton West Libraries.

Liz has shown the children how to use their library cards to take books out from the vast children's selection and explained how to navigate the library. She shared how to use the Dewey Decimal System to select non fiction, and explained how books are sorted alphabetically by author in the fiction section.

The children have also had lots of time to enjoy reading in the comfy seating at Lordshill Library, as well as finding out more about the weekend and after school clubs on offer. Did you know that there are crafting clubs and LEGO clubs? You can find out more about what's on at your local library (Shirley or Lordshill) at this link HERE:

All KS2 year groups will have the opportunity to visit Lordshill Library this academic year (postponed visits for year groups impacted by wet weather have been arranged for November.)

Please ensure you sign your child up for a Southampton Libraries Card in advance. You can do so in branch, or at this link HERE.
