Year R blog:
This week in maths, Year R have enjoyed exploring non-standard measurements. We began recapping the key words 'big' and 'small'.
The children excelled at this and were able to put objects in order depending on their size. We also looked at measuring different objects using a variety of resources and the children could tell us how long or short something was. They consolidated their learning and completed a problem solving activity where they had to measure different beanstalks using cubes and write how tall they were.
We will continue to practice measuring and recording different lengths of objects which will support our learning of standard measurements next week.
