Year 4 - blog
This week year 4 have had Into University come in to run workshops!
We learnt all about the skills needed for different careers - for example: creativity, decision making, investigation, listening, and teamwork.
During the workshop we took part in three activities. At one station we were research scientists and we tested different liquids using universal indicator strips, which changed colours. We had to look closely to compare the colours with the key. We also experimented with creating sound effects for films and radio (being Foley artists). We had to create a soundtrack for a forest scene using tissue paper, cymbals, coconut shells, lollipop sticks, a tub of rice and many other random objects! Our third activity was sorting artefacts into Roman, Victorian, or Ancient Mayan civilization as we learnt about the job of museum curators.
Can you guess what a stick on a sponge was used for?
We had so much fun and can't wait to do more with Into University in years five and six!
