E-Cadets blog:
We are delighted to welcome our new E-Cadets for the 2026–2027 academic year! Our E-Cadets have already made a fantastic start, coming together for a series of meetings to discuss what they feel should be our focus this year and how they can make a positive difference across our school.
During our meetings, the children have shared their ideas, opinions and concerns about a range of digital and online topics. One area that generated particularly strong discussion was Artificial Intelligence (AI). The children recognised that AI is becoming an increasingly important part of our everyday lives and felt strongly that we should raise its profile across the school, particularly when it comes to using AI safely and responsibly. The E-Cadets began by brainstorming everything they already knew about AI. They shared ideas about where they have encountered it, how it can be used and some of the opportunities it can provide. They also considered some of the questions they still have and the things they would like to find out more about. This led to some fantastic discussions about what makes a safe and responsible AI user. Rather than simply being told the answers, our E-Cadets are taking an active role in finding them out for themselves. They are developing questions, researching information and thinking carefully about how they can use what they learn to help others.
Our next step will be to decide how we can share our knowledge with the wider school community. The E-Cadets want to help everyone understand more about AI, recognise some of the potential risks and make informed, safe choices when using AI tools. We are incredibly excited to see where this pupil-led project takes us. Our new E-Cadets have already shown that they are thoughtful, curious and passionate about making a difference. By working together, asking questions and sharing what they discover, they are helping us to become a school community that is knowledgeable, responsible and safe in our use of AI.
We can't wait to see what they discover next!
