Year 6 Remembrance Poetry:

To mark Remembrance Day, our Year 6 pupils invited their parents in to school, to perform poetry with themes pertinent to sacrifice, war and remembrance, considering all those that have served in conflicts.

Year 6 have recently been learning about WW2 and delivered their poems to the audience with great reverence and respect, as well as with beautiful prosody and expression, to capture the emotive nature of the poetry. They beautifully performed "The Naming of Parts" by Henry Reed and "Refugee Blues" by W H Auden.

All pupils partook in two minutes silence at 11am, considering those who made great sacrifices to secure the freedoms we enjoy today.
