Year 2 blog:
Year 2 has been filled with excitement as we have begun our Spring 2 topics! One of our favorites was discovering the incredible story of Florence Nightingale. We learned how she improved hospital conditions and how her work still impacts healthcare today. Florence's dedication to helping others has inspired many interesting discussions among the children about kindness and care.
In writing, we have just finished a unit where we created our own mythical beasts for a non-chronological report. Using our imaginations, we invented magical creatures with all kinds of exciting features. Some were wondrous, while others had a mysterious or dangerous twist! The children embraced the challenge of creating awe and wonder through their writing, showing incredible creativity.
In RE, we have been learning about Lent and the importance of forgiveness. We explored the Parable of the Lost Sheep and the Unfaithful Servant, reflecting on how these stories teach us about God's love, forgiveness and the need to show kindness and forgiveness to others in our daily lives.
We are excited to continue our learning journey to deepen our understanding and make greater connections.
