Advent Liturgy:
On Monday the 2nd of December, we welcomed Father Benjamin into school to help us mark the beginning of the Liturgical Season of Advent. The children experienced a special time of prayer and reflection as they participated in a number of Advent prayer stations, led by the pupil chaplains.
One of the stations focused on the Advent theme of peace, where the children reflected on who in the world needs their prayers of peace right now, such as those facing conflict and hard times. They wrote the names of these people onto a leaf which was then carefully hung onto a peace tree so we can continue to pray for these people throughout the season of Advent.
At another prayer station, the children reflected on what they would like to say sorry for and they dropped a 'fizzy forgiveness tablet' into water, symbolising their sins being dissolved away through the act of reconciliation.
Thank you to all the pupil chaplains for helping to lead such a special time of prayer and reflection.
