Year 6 blog:

What a wonderful start to the Spring Term!

Year 6 have dived straight into their Macbeth unit where they have been exploring different atmospheres: dark, mysterious, eerie and ominous! They have recapped the key events through drama and are considering how they can create a specific atmosphere through their language choices. All of the writing has been really positive, definitely helped by seeing the live, interactive performance of Macbeth last half term. We are all very excited to read their descriptive pieces very soon.

In Maths, the year group have now been applying their knowledge of the four operations and making links to ratio and proportions and measure.

Having had two half terms learning about WW2 History, this half term the children have turned their focus to Geography! This half term, year 6 has been learning more about Earth's structure and  how tectonic plates impact the world - specifically volcanoes. They have shown a real fascination into how these natural mountains are formed, their reasons for their eruption and will be going deeper into the impact it has on humans.

In Science, we have been understanding the parts of a human eye and how we see light.
